Doesn't all water contain carcinogens? Even all natural peanut butter.
-
Im not an expert on water pollution - so I don’t know. However, I would bet that not all water contains AFFF, a common fire fighting agent used by the military. AFFF is the contaminate most often found in the base water systems that are under scrutiny.
-
The difference between medicine and poison is dose. Containing carcinogens is irrelevant without the dose, or quanities. Look at the history of saccharine.
-
If service members consumed contaminated water on base for a long period of time (decades in many cases) - then the dose would most certainly be extremely high. Look at the history of Camp Lejeune. Ingestion of potable water is a lot more pervasive than saccharine incidentally.
-
No doubt, but saccharine is example, it causes cancer but has it ever, no cases contributed to it. But I am 100% behind making the bases as safe as possible.
