Addiction knows no bounds. In 2015 alone, 52,000 people died of overdoses in America, the majority of them from opioids. #RxSummit

That's why the prescribing of #opioids should be banned unless the patient is terminal. There are alternatives, say #marijuana.

The fact there is an #opioidcrisis is another indication of the wholesale lack of #ethics in the #medical profession. #Sad #healthcare

Treating pain is much more complex than you realize. Truth is MDs have little to no training in treatment of pain unlike veterinary docs.

I get the issues, as it is very hard to diagnose. But the willful prescription of an addictive substance isn't treatment, it's malpractice

There's a long agonizing road to diagnosis for most true pain sufferers. Years. Demonizing their last hope kills them. But don't make news.

Understood, but don't gloss over the fact that #opioids should not be prescribed unless the patient is terminal.

People should know the dangers of using drugs. I have no sympathy for people that know the risks and do them anyway.

What about the doctors who knowingly do harm by prescribing #opioids? It seems medical professionals r failing their own ethical standards.

NOT like to feel any pain. So if you fail to treat, you are a bad doc. Then you get low HCAPS scores Then Medicare decreases reimbursements
