Americans will once again be able to purchase meaningful coverage under short-term plans, free of the expensive Affordable Care Act regulations. Short-term, limited duration plans can be 50 to 80% percent cheaper than ACA plans. https://go.usa.gov/xUwdn pic.twitter.com/bn83TWOE4i

These plans are worthless. They don’t cover pre existing conditions. And they don’t cover many procedures and treatments that people expect. This is a total scam. Resign, @SecAzar

Alex, on average only 38% of short term plans cover substance abuse. This lack of coverage undermines HHS’ claims that the Opioid Crisis is a nationwide health emergency. How will this improve access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services as the President promised?

Similar plans exist today. Your false portrayal of this as a meaningful new coverage alternative is, at best, a blatant disregard for the overwhelmingly critical feedback of public health orgs & substantial data/evidence showing negative impacts for majority of Americans longterm

Man, so glad that we can buy something that does literally nothing. How can you scrutinize the 340B program and at the same time be okay with this?

And every one of those plans will be at risk of claims denied at the insurers’ discretion. Stop cheating Americans.

Short term because they don't cover anything so you'll die and won't need insurance. Sounds awesome.

Then buy a more expensive plan. This isn't hard.

It’s just like when you get a rental car and buy the cheap insurance but pass on the walk away plan, only to find out it doesn’t cover anything that happened to the car. It was cheap though... right? https://twitter.com/SecAzar/status/1025055170537947136 …

Alex: my understanding is that NONE of the short-term insurance plans cover maternity costs. This really can’t be true – is it? Would you purchase a plan that didn’t cover this basic service? I think not. Why encourage others to do it?
