Alex, on average only 38% of short term plans cover substance abuse. This lack of coverage undermines HHS’ claims that the Opioid Crisis is a nationwide health emergency. How will this improve access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services as the President promised?

You’re enabling insurance companies to offer sham plans that will end up with people getting ripped, just as they were in the past with these plans. You’re still shilling for insurance companies and big pharma when you’re supposed to be working on behalf of the country.

I would love a catastrophic health plan that wouldn't kick in until I hit 10 or 20 thousand in a year. I would pay cash to go see any doctor I want to see. PLEASE let me know if this is possible in California. I will take that policy.

Alex: my understanding is that NONE of the short-term insurance plans cover maternity costs. This really can’t be true – is it? Would you purchase a plan that didn’t cover this basic service? I think not. Why encourage others to do it?
