I’m all for USB-C but the fact that I need an adaptor to plug my 5 week old iPhone 7 in my new MacBook Pro is borderline ridiculous

during a transition they can't cover every combo. Lightning to USB-c cable is available so you don't need an adapter, just an alt cable

you’re either all in on USB-C, or you’re not. If Apple was, they would have made iPhone 7 cable a Lightning to USB-C

or you can just use wifi syncing and not plug it in at all....

That’s not my point. My point is if you’re going all in on USB-C, then outfit all your new hardware with USB-C cables

see if an Apple Store would do a swap? I had an Apple Store swap a 30-pin for a lightning a couple years back.
