The scud was rising as fast as I've ever seen here in WA state.

Pretty impressive display of what happens when you have low level instability and shear over a body of water that is warmer than the air above it. Saw horizontal needles, and I though for a second it just might put out a better funnel or even a waterspout.

Sounding for Sunday around noon are still interesting. I've seen worse conditions produce spouts/weak tornadoes on the coast and events can produce nice rotating storms with this kind of NW shear aloft underneath the EL level. Hoping for little stronger winds.

Someone get my day 2, Tornado 2% marker pen out... Sunday on the coast in the morning looks pretty legit right now for rotating storms.

GFS, ECMWF operational runs trended stronger, both bring 50mph gusts to Seattle area. Look closer at the 850mb winds and you can see the Olympic Lee Low that is contributing to these winds speeds. Low confidence in just how strong gradients will be across the central sound.

Classic Convergence zone setting up for Saturday afternoon. Chance for some lightning in the Zone. High shear, low cape and even a touch of that needed NW shear in the mid lower levels of the CVZN. Never stop chasing.

2/2 It is worth noting that we look to be JUST UNDER this criteria as of now, ~39-40KTS or so.

1/2 If the NAM or some ECMWF members verify with near 50 mph gusts, falling trees/ Sig branch damage could occur due to saturated soil and the lack of a tree pruning windstorm during the last 9+ months. 42-43KTS (48+ mph) would get some power outages in the area.
