We haven’t seen much overt homophobia directed at him in the primary but I’d imagine that would change greatly in a general election

My suspicion based on political instincts is he's the least electable of the 6 democratic contenders still running. And it has zero to do with his sexuality. I think the low level of attacks between candidates has created a major vetting problem we haven't yet realized.

For example, Sanders tried to ship VT & NH's nuclear waste to dump it in a poor Latinx community in TX in the late 1990s. Progressive Sen. Paul Wellstone submitted amendment to at least allow them to sue for racial discrimination. BS killed it in committee.
