Good idea. Unfortunately, I dont think it would stop anything. They would just get more money to pay for the fine by the same people that pay them to report the incorrect quotes and information. Being a journalist/reporter did mean to report facts now its only about reporting...

first and to report fake news to get it out in the public's face since the majority of our citizens do not make sure its true or make sure they are getting their info from credible sources. They just want to run with the hate of whatever is said.
