Missing from so much of the news coverage of Native people being outraged by Elizabeth Warren's DNA test: Native voices. I asked prominent tribal leaders and Native people about it. Surprise: they said Warren is an ally and this narrative is media fodder.

If you think a 70 percent top tax rate would destroy the economy you have to grapple with the fact that the US economy delivered some of the strongest growth rates in history between 1945 and 1963, when the top federal rate was over 90 percent.

A quick thread on the economics of a much higher top rate for the super-rich. TL;DR version is that is on very solid ground here. There is a lot of evidence that from an economic and fiscal perspective, we'd be way better off with top rates approaching 70.

Funny how we never managed to fund the wall in the two years when Republicans controlled all the levels of government, but it’s critical that it be done right now or no one gets paychecks

I wonder if my former colleagues at the FTC are working without pay and paying for their own hotel rooms during the trial. After literally years of work, these public servants deserve more from their client, the US government and the American people.

Anybody who does a story of the Trump press conference better lead with “the President, seemingly jealous not to be the center of attention, delivered remarks...”

A couple years ago, when I was writing for American Dad!, I needed an Arabic speaker for a small part. Our casting director recommended a Saudi comedian, who happened to be in LA for a couple months shooting a tv show. His name is Fahad Albutairi.

Hey folks I’m trying this crazy thing where, instead of asking whether Elizabeth Warren is likeable, I examine her foreign policy ideas.

In 2015, Pete tweeted that Hillary Clinton was unlikable. He thought other potential female candidates — like Elizabeth Warren — would be far more “likable.” Now that Elizabeth Warren is running, does Pete still think she’s likable? Read the thread to find out!

Scott Walker is having trouble finding a job. You know what would help him be employable in translating his experience with clear analysis, writing, and strategy? A liberal arts degree from a strong state university. He’d also understand irony better.

Instead of hunting for exaggerated scandals to make sure negative coverage of both sides is published in equal amount, just cover the actual scandals. Also: cover policy and explain what candidates actually say they will do and what they actually have done in previous offices.
