And the last "history lessons" have been shit

Except the Rosa Parks episode was widely acclaimed, so... no.

I remember learning about Marco Polo, The French Revolution and The Aztecs just in the first series (I think). The handsome young man who taught us History at school did his best, but couldn't really compete (I was studying him anyway). Ngl I did prefer the Sci-Fi ones, really.
-
Oh, I prefer the sci-fi ones too, but the history ones are enjoyable, especially if they're about history that's not really had stories been told about it before, like this one.

All history is part fiction. Its about starting the discussion and the interest. Some kids are going to go out and google about Rosa Parks and Pakistan now.

I LOVE historicals in Doctor Who as long as they are cleverly done (like Vincent) and cause some real insight. I missed them in fact.

And, to be fair, those aliens were very scifi. I think they're doing a great job of weaving the 2 threads together.
