"So how was your Halloween, rich?" Last week I was delighted when I went to IMDB to see what movies would be playing on Halloween. I was happily surprised to see that a local theater would be showing the original 1977 "Suspiria".

Classic film, with brilliant use of color. It would be a rare treat to see it on a proper cinema screen. So I get in my car, make the drive, select the perfect seat, and get ready for a great night of movie watching.

Just before the lights dim, some gentleman who I'd imagine doesn't spend much money on soap or shampoo sits right next to me. Hundreds of seats in the theater and Crusty McStankass has to sit right next to me. I get up, find an unoccupied seat, and wait.

After 20 minutes of trailers for movies I'll never see, the movie begins. Gradually I realize... this isn't the 1977 Suspiria. It's the 2018 remake. How was it? The first 10 minutes are uninspiring. Can't tell you about the rest, as I left.

This is the scariest campfire story I heard this Halloween.

"And there, hanging on the handle, was a pointless remake." (GASP)

I dunno. This is looking like it might not be so pointless

Possibly. The film and me had an awkward introduction, I probably jettisoned too soon.
