This is the exact policies for permanent immigration in Scandinavian nations ... must have a sponsor, must know the language, must have a profession/degree, must be financially independent.
-
This is pretty much the rule in Australia as well. Immigration is tightly managed by any country that wants to protect prosperity for its own people

It is common sense because back in the day when people came to America with nothing, they worked and toiled to make something for themselves and their families and didn’t immediately get on welfare like they do now!
-
And way back in the day, there was no welfare.

I would venture to say most countries have similar immigration policies
-
Most countries follow the UNHCR regulations regarding this. “Even countries such as China, Russia and DPRK follow these”. Good job, only country in the world

If they're here as immigrants, legal or illegal, and cannot support themselves, or have no one to help support them as far as friends or family goes, they should be returned to the country of origin. Not leach off of US!! That's how it was when my great-grandparents came over!!
-
When my great-grandparents came over, they either had to show they had enough financial resources to support themselves and not become a burden on society, or have a sponsor, AKA relative or friend, willing to support them financially until they were able to support themselves.
