There were some big options that I briefly saw in my preview, but I don't know the extent of it. I'm not sure about gender either but I know you can choose a male/female voice regardless of your outward gender presentation

Yeah it's always been this way, not counting the original SR1, a game that Volition themselves pretend never happened.
