      One of my proudest accomplishments is introducing my 14yo not-a-stepkid to 10TIHAY a couple years ago and now it's her favorite movie.

      this makes me think: I use "out-laws" instead of "in-laws" for "family of unmarried serious/long-term partner", but I don't know what the equivalent of "stepkid" would be. "skipkid"? "hopkid"? "sidestep-kid"?
