We wanted something mindless because we're still a little shaken after the accident, so we're on Friday the 13th part 6 and like... ...has anyone ever considered just cremating Jason Voorhees?

Lightning / nanobites / super-healing / the holy hand of God can't bring the monster back if the monster has been turned into ash and scattered, right?

I don't think they'd considered the possibility back when they made 6, but by 9 (Jason Goes To Hell) it was pretty settled canon that, at least, if any part of his physical form remains, he can return. Unclear whether vaporization would be effective.

My goodness. Is it ever clarified what is powering this man? Satan or, like, just his own supernatural rage.

Sadly I don't think the explanations have been very consistent. I believe 9 held that it's not really "Jason" but some kind of supernatural murder/vengeance spirit that used Jason's rage re: his mother's death to possess him?

But Jason X kind of ignores all that and goes back to not explaining. He also gets reconstituted by nanobots in that one, so it's a real Jason of Theseus problem
