My goodness. Is it ever clarified what is powering this man? Satan or, like, just his own supernatural rage.
Sadly I don't think the explanations have been very consistent. I believe 9 held that it's not really "Jason" but some kind of supernatural murder/vengeance spirit that used Jason's rage re: his mother's death to possess him?

But Jason X kind of ignores all that and goes back to not explaining. He also gets reconstituted by nanobots in that one, so it's a real Jason of Theseus problem
