a lot of people are saying 1 AU (Red War) or Mysterious Disturbance (Shadowkeep), and it's hard to disagree with either. I hope Bungie find a good way to bring vaulted campaigns back, maybe on a rotating basis.https://twitter.com/destiny_thememe/status/1425688793315569668 …

I got nostalgic for the Red War and found a no-commentary longplay of the whole campaign, and you know, Homecoming really _was_ a great mission too.

Homecoming must have hit super hard at launch, too. I started with New Light and it took me a while to even find the legacy campaigns, so I was going back to them from a post-Forsaken perspective of the Tower and the Farm.

It was an incredible opening of a game, especially a game like Destiny that’s centered on power fantasies

and if you played it at launch, you end that mission 1) still depowered 2) at the Farm, a refugee camp, uncertain where the game's hub will be 3) not knowing whether ANYONE from D1 is still alive 4) assuming the entire Tower, maybe the entire City, is completely destroyed. wow!

oh, wait, I guess that's technically at the end of Adieu. A the end of Homecoming you don't even know if you survived the fall!

I played it all in quick succession to be fair—because I really needed to know what happened next!

yeah, those first two missions are like a season finale/season premiere cliffhanger situation.

One of the most intense moments of the entire game are when you have to fight like 5 cabal dogs—but without any abilities or ghost, only like, a sidearm
