2/ If, in fact, once we enter a war abroad we are obliged to stay there forever lest our "resolve" be questioned, then we should think a LOT harder before getting involved in the first place. (This would be a great idea in any case.)

4/ How long do we need to stay in a country in order for our "resolve" to be beyond question? Does it matter whether the government of the country in question is hopelessly corrupt?

5/ What happens when a President's predecessors have screwed things up so badly that an already difficult task has become impossible? Are we obligated to keep fighting and dying and destroying parts of the country, "just because"? I don't think so.
