which frankly is no surprise, but the games industry needs to do better, especially at big companies—AAA titles bring huge huge revenue, and the people who actually make them aren't getting their fair share of that pie.

a brief survey of the GameDevPaidMe tag suggests that salaries in games—looks to my eye like this is especially true for people who aren't white men, what a shock—tend to be significantly lower than equivalent roles in the non-games software biz.
