I wonder if people would hate masks as much if there were plentiful N95s all along. No ear discomfort, doesn't touch your nose and mouth.

N95s use around the head loops instead of ear loops, which helps my comfort a ton, and because the mask sits off my nose and lips, I find them less stifling. Everyone's prefs differ though.
the elastic ear loops are the one thing I don't really like about the KF94s I've been using. the pattern we used for making cloth masks had around-the-head ties instead of anything elastic at all, and I liked that a lot.

I sewed buttons on to some scrap denim to make an ear saver for use with ear loop masks if I have to wear them for more than an hour.
