there are people who admit they don't give a shit, and there are people who pretend they give a shit as a pretext for trying to kill any legislation that might accomplish anything good, but there is not one single person who actually gives a shit about an extra $25b/yr.
the federal budget deficit is on the order of hundreds of billions of dollars a MONTH. an extra $25 billion a YEAR is nothing, it's loose change in the couch. by presenting it as a big newsworthy deal, @nytimes is lying to its readers.
If only they had this concern about entering wars in the early 00s.
