I have also been asking myself that question, and so I checked on the cvs app for which nearby stores have the cheap (well, "cheap") home 15-minute test in stock, and when I got there and asked they were like, "no, we don't have any of those".

I ended up having them just mail me a couple kits. Just to have in the medicine cabinet. Because I guess that’s what we do now.
I got one from a Walgreens yesterday with curbside. If you do that they’ll actually check when they fill the order.
