so apparently windows 10 is going to start automatically blocking "potentially unwanted apps" and "potentially unwanted programs" by default, instead of just warning, and the setting to turn off that automatic blocking is buried a few levels down in the control panel

very clever of them to coin the "potentially unwanted apps" euphemism for "software by developers who didn't pay us a license fee".

but I'm so old I remember when Apple launched their App Store on MacOS, not just iOS, and us over in Windows land were like "wow, walled garden much, couldn't be me"
