that landlord’s comment about spicy foods reminded of the time my two white friends made it impossible to enter their flat’s kitchen for a good couple hours because they put so many chilis in their stir fry that the air itself was spicy.

I stopped by to visit in the middle of it and had to stand in the hallway. Thank god that kitchen had a fire door on it.
