I have now watched 2 of the 5 eps of Netflix He-Man. I am feeling very... frustrated.

The show is fine, watchable. It's not great, like Netflix She-Ra was. The writing tries to be funny, but only gets as far in complexity and craft as the type of jokes you heard in the 80s cartoons it's presumably playing homage to. Dad jokes and awful puns everywhere.

But that's emblematic of the big problem: Is this show intending to be a nostalgic return trip through the 80s cartoon people my age remember, or is it an 80s He-Man-flavored kids show intended for modern children? It ALMOST succeeds at the former and falls shy of the latter.

well, that sure sounds like a Kevin Smith project, then.
