Not just Bernie. People were like this about Obama, and then Trump came in. It way worse with him, and like, by osmosis, EVERYONE started having cults of personality. It's just how everyone does politics now. Bernie is part of it. I also hate it.
IMO the left has always had some problems with personality cults in general, predating Obama (though of course the right does too, mostly worse!) and I feel like it was worse with Bernie than with Obama. But yeah, it's definitely not just him.

It was worse with Bernie than Obama, but I see Trump as the main catalyst. Because it was also an issue with Hillary's campaign. Like, the way people felt the need to weigh in on Hillary's state of mind for years after? It was everywhere when Trump arrived on the scene.
