but it still doesn't occupy a "Big Important Thing" position in my mind: it was, you know, just a thing I went to, when I was younger, and stuff got pretty weird. was it this totemic apotheosis of malign cultural forces that the thinkpieces say? I mean, maybe?

anyway, it's hard to believe that was 22 years ago, and in just another 8, if we all live that long, Woodstock 99 will be as long ago as the original Woodstock was when Woodstock 99 happened.

of course, in 1999, I could have gone to a Circuit City and bought a DVD of a documentary about the original Woodstock. I can't watch this new documentary, because I don't subscribe to enough online streaming services.
