SSD installed, c: drive successfully cloned, it turns out steam even has a built-in facility to move an installed game to a different drive these days

used the free version of macrium reflect to clone the old C: onto the new SSD and it was shockingly painless

still not used to how fast this old machine boots now. you mean I can sit down and push the power button and just thirty seconds or so later my browser tabs are already all loaded?? wild.
