I think like 6" surform, a short scrub plane, and a 14" or 22" bench plane (maybe low-angle)? also chisels and a mallet, and more bits for my drill/driver, and a set of rasps and files.

@brewergnome you do a bunch of woodworking! do you have any suggestions for essentials to set up a (very) small hobby shop, to do small furniture and maybe guitars? (my basement storage space is I think about 10x15')

Some sort of saw... not sure which you'd go for with that litlte space... jigsaw maybe? For guitars, side bender iron and guitar maker's vise. Router... Other than that... clamps, vise...

well, if I do get into guitars they'll be solid-body electrics, so I won't need the iron to start with. definitely a bunch of clamps, saws, miter box, jigsaw, maybe small tablesaw? vise is a good thought. maybe planer; hand planes, files, rasps, chisels.
