This is one of those things where Catholicism reminds me of Microsoft in the 90s—always patching w/o looking at the bigger picture. The thing against scattered remains was originally responding to a specific uppity cult that was doing it. Ages later we're still dealing with it

My PSA because we had to face it: The Catholic church *does* allow cremations in the US as long as the ashes are kept together. We had to face not having a funeral mass for loved one or having it while her husband was in hospital because that isn't as well known as it needs to be
