I suppose it's salutary to be reminded that Christians don't have a monopoly on stating an article of their faith and then expecting everyone else to accept it as a premise for arguments too.

you can't just say "defenses of indigenous foodways are irrelevant because eating meat is just unethical," just like you can't say "defenses of the societal benefits of same-gender marriage are irrelevant because gay sex is just immoral."
