I don't know a lot about the economics of running a cinema but surely the mega-rich stars could afford to set up a little 2- or 4-screen joint with some nice art, new projectors, an endowment, and a nonprofit charter to run obscure/classic/indie/arthouse film with affordable tix
It seems so much more manageable than many similar undertakings.
and communities LOVE indie cinemas, look at Somerville Theatre, the Brattle, Coolidge Corner!
