IPA lovers insisting IPAs are the "best" or the only good style of beer, and IPA haters insisting they're objectively bad and possibly no one even honestly likes them, are like sports fans who won't shut up about sports, and non-fans who won't stop saying "sportsball".
going to try to make this my last word on (the current round of) the IPA Discourse.

or like rabid mayo-haters vs. mayo defenders who insist it's _ketchup_ that's _actually_ objectively terrible. in that everyone should please cut it out and agree that people can like what they like and it's best if there are many choices.

there are many, many styles of beer and any of them can be done well or badly but none of them is per se "bad", you just might not like them all. IPAs and baseball don't really NEED defending, anyway, but it's also kind of obnoxious to insist no one SHOULD like them.
