FWIW, they were acquired by the scumbags in late April/early May, and the latest published version is from mid-April. Currently installed versions are safe, and older versions are available on fosshub. IMO uninstalling isn't necessary, but don't update to any version post-v3.0.2.

Yep, if you check the Build Information tab, it will tell you the release date also. I don't think Audacity has an auto-update feature, so it won't download a newer build for you without asking, either.

The last version is 3.0.2., and, if I've read right, that is already the problematic one. (A couple of weeks ago I got the message for the update)

I'm not 100% sure on 3.0.2, but the build date is April 13, which I _think_ is before any problematic changes were introduced. Older versions are still available at https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity-old.html … though.
