As far as I can tell, all currently available builds—v3.0.2 and prior—on fosshub are from before Muse acquired Audacity (the acquisition was announced 2021-04-30). if you have Audacity installed, you can go to the Help menu, select "About Audacity…", then check the "Build Information" tab for the build date, and a link to the last github change that went into that build. in my install of v3.0.2 for Windows, it's 2021-04-13.
I checked in the windows version and I don't see an auto-update feature in preferences; the "check for updates" link from the help menu just opens the website. So it's not _likely_ to be able to update itself to a copware version, but I can't say for sure on Mac/Linux.
I would tell people to stick to the 2.x branch if possible, though, because it's less likely to try to auto-upgrade to a shit version.
