I know a few years ago we had a big discussion about how "don't feed the trolls" wasn't really universally good advice, but the thing is, sometimes it _is_ the correct approach.

when "the trolls" are actually an organized harassment campaign, yeah, "just ignore them" doesn't work. when "the trolls" is J-Bar and Yatt M'G posting their contrarian hot take clickbait, "just ignore them" is precisely what we should do.

It's like when whoever it was posted that "everyone should just admit that live music is bad, actually" take years ago. that's not a real argument. that's just aggressively making overboard claims, to get people mad on purpose. we can just not engage, who needs MORE to be mad at?

Replying to @ScottMadin
“Who needs MORE to be mad at” is the theme of my birthday resolution / mantra for perimenopause because… there’s plenty already, and I need my energies for other things.

there are so many REAL problems! "Josh Barro thinks grilling is bad" just absolutely is not one of them and I refuse to give it more of my brain.
