It is probably in great shape! I would, to be safe, scrub and wash it, dry it thoroughly, set it on a low flame until totally dry; then rub very lightly with canola or flaxseed oil, and set upside down on middle rack over drip tray in 500F oven for 1+ hour

folks may insist you can't use scour pads/steel wool/detergent on cast iron. this is false. key is just to dry it thoroughly and fast, then apply v thin layer of oil while hot & dry.
