the idea that protests against police brutality are somehow run by or in coordination with the Democratic party is an overtly Republican idea, barely a step away from claims of "paid protesters" or "Soros operatives".

personally I think it's not all that hard to keep a distinction in your mind between "leftist/leftish protests" and "electoral rallies to benefit the Democrats, who are the more left of the two major parties in this country"
