properly understood, "racism" is shorthand for "systematic white supremacism", but the overwhelming popular understanding is that it just means "personal dislike of an individual because of their perceived race"

Increasingly I think the terms "racism" and "racist" are counterproductive (except where they can be reasonably understood as shorthand)
