      anyway I understand Kris has had some very bad struggles with memory loss and dementia, apparently as complications of Lyme rather than Alzheimer's, and at 85 he's seen an awful lot of his friends and peers in the musical movement they spearheaded pass away.

      but I think it's worth celebrating that he's still here, and so is Willie, and they live in a 100% green (no doubt in every sense of the word) compound in Hawaii along with Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson and others.

      I don't think it's very controversial to say that Kris Kristofferson is on the very short list of all-time greatest American songwriters, so it's a blessing to be alive at the same time he is.
