I finished re-reading _Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell_ again (for the…mumble…th time) last night and I thought, "I want a sequel that follows Arabella Strange and Emma Pole's political careers"

I feel like Clarke does SUCH a deft job of threading almost cosmic-horror levels of magical weirdness into the Regency pastiche, so that when Shit Gets Going in the back half you really feel the characters' world being upended.
Vinculus saying "they ARE the spell he is doing!" gives me chills every time.

I did end up feeling sad for Mrs Brandy, whose subplot was dropped somewhat abruptly and who presumably never saw Stephen again
