It was only $400 thanks to sales (Father’s Day sales lol I am your dad now). I got back in for fitting on the 9th and alterations are FREE. It felt right and normal and good and I’m so happy about it!

I've had good experiences at Men's Wearhouse, too, I got my most recent (and only still-fitting, I think) suit there five years ago, a very reasonable gray Joseph Abboud two-piece. I used to wear suits all the time, I kind of miss it, but it was a lot of effort.
