I assume by "commercially" they mean as a consumer product, not at industrial scale (where there are surely already machines to do this), and it seems like an idea that would be very helpful for people with some kinds of physical disabilities.

Okay, yes, as a consumer good, it’s nice. I parsed commercially as “for commercial use” (i.e. clothing stores etc.)

yeah, I agree it wouldn't be any use in that context! besides, retail isn't going to buy expensive machines to do things they can just pay minimum-wage workers to do.
