I am out here once again begging cis people to stop this genre of tweets. It's factually incorrect on multiple layers. We do not, in fact, prioritize the health of cis men in our society. If we did, therapy and counseling would be free and available at Starbucks.https://twitter.com/7Veritas4/status/1401959282657140738 …

Also: trans men exist. But even if we did not, this genre of tweets would still be fantastical nonsense.

Folks have got to stop confusing "the patriarchy benefits men at the top of society" with "the patriarchy conscientiously takes care of all men". It doesn't.

We KNOW this! We can't get parental leave for cis men. We can't get workplace protections for industries which are thought of as "men's jobs". We can't get healthcare for veterans! For homeless men! But you think all men could get on-demand abortion at a coffee shop??? HOW?

Like, I hate this tweet because it invisibles trans men like me, but it also ignores all the cis men who are veterans, home-insecure, poor, men of color, or really anything but the top 1% of the rich.

The patriarchy does NOT take care of all its men, and spreading that lie just makes it harder to dismantle.

For fucks sake, AIDS stole an entire generation of gay men (and other queer folk, especially trans women!) from us, but y'all are gonna go viral on my timeline saying that male health is automatically catered to by every facet of society? Fuck you?

if cis men could get pregnant, the rich and connected ones would have no difficulty getting safe abortions when they wanted them, and patriarchy wouldn't give a shit about the masses. Which is exactly the case with rich and connected cis women currently anyway.
