anyway all unlicensed/unregulated taxi service apps (uber, lyft, etc.) should be banned, as should unlicensed/unregulated hotels (airbnb). taxi service should be a unionized and well-regulated business sector, if not an outright state-run public service.

every state should have a state transit authority (all regulated by a federal agency) that provides intercity transit and works with municipal transit authorities in every city.

every person should be able to get on some form of public transportation in 15 minutes or less from when they decide to go somewhere, for a nominal fee (which can be paid in cash) to go anywhere in the state.
