Anyway we're going to have a nice little backyard cookout with the upstairs and downstairs neighbors, since the upstairs folks are moving out and I feel bad that we haven't had more social interactions. So I'm just waiting for the charcoal.

the grilled summer squash skewers were not a big hit, sadly, but everybody liked the grilled corn on the cob and the burgers and hot dogs, so it's OK.

another thing I find to be great, now that I'm old, is social gatherings that are over by like 8:30pm. twenty-years-ago me, even ten-years-ago me, would have scoffed at this idea.
