And it was the only really noticeable difference in platforms between Obama and Clinton's in the primary.
and then when it wasn't possible to pass as part of the ACA, and he got criticized for it, instead of (correctly!) saying "you gotta take that up with Lieberman," he said "I never campaigned on a public option," which just wasn't true. I'm still annoyed about that.
