I just saw someone say "it's more important that kids feel comfortable at pride than [that] the kink community [does]", and…to be blunt I'm just not sure that's true?

and everybody on the anti-side seems convinced that if you let leather daddies march in the pride parade the whole city will turn into the Folsom Street Fair. that's not how anything works!

I think it's very easy to explain to kids why those shirtless men are wearing harnesses—"it's a kind of dress-up some grownups like to do"—just like it's easy to explain why two men are kissing—"sometimes men kiss each other". it's not the CHILD who's upset by these things!
