i feel like this whole weird no-kink-pride thing is for people who just want to use (what they perceive as) sassy gay reaction gifs (probably of Black folks, probably in a weird online Blackface way) without actually engaging with queer and sex-positive culture

Bingo. None of the kink at Pride is going to make actual kids uncomfortable, but it will make some parents uncomfortable. And those parents don't belong at Pride. They should send their kids with someone else.
