Been seeing people on the left call things/people they like “based” and...can we not? It just makes me assume the person using it was a -channer Nazi before one day deciding on a new political personality

To clarify...I learned just today that "based" was originally created as a term meaning someone with a positive, tolerant lifestyle by rapper Lil B. Black people using it this way, I have absolutely no problem with, of course! That's a different thing altogether

The way I got familiar with it, though, and the way it took off in a widespread way, was when boards such as /Pol and r/thedonald started using it in an ironically flipped, mocking way, to indicate approval of someone, say, being a white supremacist.
